“Shine Your Light” Was the Theme for PCO After-school Program for Lights On National Day of Recognition.

Students in the Plainfield Community Outreach After-school Program performed a STEM-based spectacular for this year’s Lights On After-school event on October 24 at Cedarbrook School in Plainfield.

Their theme was “Shine Your Light for the Galaxy to See” and through speeches, song and dance they wowed the audience with facts about the solar system.

Launched in October 2000, Lights On After-school is the only nationwide event celebrating after-school programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities.

At the PCO event, our very gifted after-school students presented a dazzling array of talent and knowledge that informed and entertained the audience.

Kudos to PCO 21st Century Director Patience Smith and to Grace Music Director Andrew Kilkenny and Grace member Denise Simmons, who are among the professionals who work with the students in the after-school program.
